Attention
being here and now
the act of keeping one’s mind closely on something or the ability to do this; mental concentration; mental readiness for such concentration; notice or observation
In western culture all attention is directed towards the exterior – we even see ourselves as objects. In ancient meditation texts it is advised to ‘turn the light around,’ a visualization of turning our attention inward. We decide the direction we want the awake, aware mental spotlight to shine. Alert attention is required to experience the deeper levels of our being.

Intention
I take the wakefulness of my morning practice into the day, again and again returning to the present moment, being in connection with my true self.
