Nonresistance, accepting what is

Nonresistance

accepting what is

not resisting; submitting to the reality of a situation; the refusal to use force even to defend oneself

The ‘little me’ loves conflict, because only in conflict can it assure its validity. By resisting what is, the ego can take opposition, create drama, explore solutions to ‘problems,’ and remain in control. Once we stop resisting, obstacles transform into opportunity. When we say ‘yes,’ that which caused suffering no longer holds any power and becomes a doorway to realization.

Inquiry

What am I resisting?

Intention

I know that by not resisting, I save myself the problems of confrontation and consequent suffering and I free the energy for peaceful, creative purposes. When there is still a ‘no,’ I embrace it gently with a ‘yes.’
